The Power of Relationships
Ninety-nine percent of all the good things you'll ever receive in life are going to come through a single channel. Do you know what that channel is?
Think, for a moment, about the things that make life good — love, friendship, encouragement, financial increase, promotion on the job, and recognition of achievement. All these things have one thing in common. They can only come to you through the channel of relationships.
Nearly every form of blessing and increase comes as a direct result of relationships with other people. That's why the quality of your relationships and your skill in cultivating those relationships has a profound impact on your quality of life. Without good, healthy relationships, God has few avenues available to send good things your way.
For example, when God wants to encourage you, you don't hear a booming voice from heaven saying, "Be thou encouraged My child." No, He sends someone to you to put an arm around you and say a few words that turn your day around. When God increases you financially, a giant hand doesn't come out of the clouds to drop a bag of money in your lap. Instead, He uses a boss to give you a promotion.
When God wants to bring something good into your life, He'll almost always use another person as the vehicle to deliver it. The point is, the one key element necessary for God to bless you is healthy "relationships."
For better or worse, the health of your relationships has a powerful and direct effect on your quality of life. As I look back on my own life, I realize that practically every good thing I've ever received has come through the channel of relationships. That's no accident. God created us social creatures.
It is not good that the man should be alone… (Genesis 2:18)
His desire is that we all enjoy blessing and increase through strong relationships with others. But just as healthy relationships enhance your quality of life, weak or unhealthy ones can destroy it. That's why it's so important to find out what God has to say about cultivating winning relationships.
Imagine the impact on your life, if you could radically improve your relationships with your children, your boss, your coworkers, your customers or your friends. Winning relationships. They're a major element in God's plan for your success and fulfillment.
